The mission of Frank's Big Fish is to honor the loving memory of our friend Franklin Cox, who passed away on 2/27/09 after a 6 month battle with liver cancer. Frank was, indeed, an awesome angler. Just ask any of the many friends he met through the RiverSmallies website, his work developing and selling Case Plastics baits, his love for and stewardship of the natural resource, or the countless fishing excursions through the years. But this gentle giant of a man was about more than fish. A friend described him as "the most centered person I've ever known." Franklin was known for his sense of humor and quick wit, thoughtfulness and generosity, and dedication to family and friends.
Frank's Big Fish was formed as a result of Frank's lifelong love of music. His friend JoAnn Dentinger was one of the 300+ attending a benefit-turned-celebration of life for him on the day he died. Frank had attended and helped with Jo's Dodgeville (WI) Blues Festival in years past. After hearing Michelle, Calvin, Bryan and Larry's impromptu rockabilly/blues set at the benefit, she invited us to play at Dodgeville Blues Festival, which this year will be dedicated to Frank's memory.
Frank, we love you and miss you. And if FBF brings a smile to the faces of the many lives you touched.....mission accomplished.
